Driver Assignment Fails to Cost When All Costs are Weighted Costs (Doc ID 1307301.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Management - Version 6.1.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Would like to order the Driver Assignment selections by three different weighted costs. As such, three Cost Categories are assigned to the Parameter Set for the following values:

DRIVER ASSIGNMENT PRIMARY COST CATEGORY SET
DRIVER ASSIGNMENT SECONDARY COST CATEGORY SET
DRIVER ASSIGNMENT TERTIARY COST CATEGORY SET

These cost categories are assigned to the Rate Costs as Weighted Costs.

An attempt to show driver options via the shipment action: Fleet Management -> Assign -> Driver (Show Options), yields no driver results because not normal cost is calculated. The logs show the Rate Costs without any Cost Category assigned fail with:

RECharge.evaluate(): Cost category = null. Category filter set = [A, B, C]. Cancelling cost evaluation.

Other costs that are designated as Weighted Costs are correctly evaluated and calculated. However, no normal costs are calculated. As a result, the TOTAL COST of the shipment (i.e. normal cost) is still null and this rate is then not considered as feasible:

RateFinder.findShipmentCosts(): Total 0 rate engine result(s) returned from RateEngine
