Issue with Item Classification Template /Classification Code of GTM (Global Trade Management)

Symptoms
Product Classification Code is defined such that the field: Product Classification Code is saved in lower case (say 3B001.c) in the Product Classification Code form . However when this is entered in the product classification template, it converts it to upper case : 3B001.C. Also navigated to power data and a search is done by entering the product classification code of 3B001.c, GTM automatically convert it to 3B001.C (upper case conversion again!), thus the search did not return result.
