Dead Lock And Foreign Key Violation Error While Interfacing Customer Information To GTM (Doc ID 1351898.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Global Trade Management - Version 6.2.1 to 6.2.7 [Release 6.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On OTM version 6.2.1 when we interface a XML for customers for which location is not there in GTM, the system will try to create the location on the fly and then this location can be referenced in the contact. The single XML if uploaded from the GTM UI through XML upload utility, it gets processed successfully, but when running my interface program it will generate many XMLs for different contacts and locations at the same time due to which I am getting 2 types of errors.

a) Dead Lock error detected while waiting for the resource.
b) Foreign key element contact.location_gid must reference a valid location_gid in location table. ( This may happen when system is trying to create contact even before the location is created).
