BI Publisher Session Inactive Message does not Render Properly if the Browser Window is not Active (Doc ID 1370914.1)

Symptoms

BI Publisher session inactive message does not render properly if the browser window itself is not active. 
The following message appears:
"You have been inactive for more than 15 minutes.  Click OK to keep your session."
However, the OK button is not active.
And when attempting to select the back arrow in the menu, it doesn't respond.

So the session becomes dormant and the browser doesn't respond causing the user to log in again.
