Customizing Translation in Oracle E-Business Suite - R12
(Doc ID 1382124.1)
Last updated on DECEMBER 21, 2021
Applies to:
Oracle EBS Applications Translation - Version 12.0.0 to 12.1.3 [Release 12 to 12.1] Information in this document applies to any platform.
Purpose
This document is for Oracle customers that have developers and development managers who need to support the MLS architecture and/or customize the Oracle delivered translations.
Scope
This document describes how to translate page field labels, forms/reports, and seed data. Currently only languages that have an Oracle Enterprise Business Suite supported language code can be translated. So if a customer did not install Oracle provided translations, they can still have a translated UI by providing the translations themselves. If the requirement is just to customize a few words then is it suggested that a Translation Synchronization is performed on the environment first, this will seed the environment with the latest Oracle provided translations.
Within Oracle E-Business Suite application the following can be translated, Oracle Application Framework(OAF) pages, Forms, Reports, Workflow tables and definitions, OBIEE catalog captions, and BI Publisher templates.
The steps provided within this documentation have only been tested on a fully translated application and a Lightweight MLS application (See "Using Lightweight MLS with Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.1.3" [<Document 1077709.1>] for instructions and restrictions when using Lightweight MLS). Translating an entire application with these methods has not been tested.
