R12 Launches Oracle Discoverer Plus reports in same navigator tab instead of opening new window

Symptoms
After upgrading to EBS R12, the Discoverer Plus page opens on the same navigator tab, instead of in a new window. This does not happen when the same function is launched from R11i.
Note: Since Discoverer is launched in the same browser window, the "exitURL" parameter in the ICX profile "ICX: Discoverer Parameters" is by default set to redirect the page to the E-Business Suite Home Page upon the Discoverer Exit link's usage.
Changes
Customers who have upgraded their existing R11i instance to R12 (12.1.1 and above) may encounter this issue. If it's a new R12 implementation, this behavior can be expected by default.
