R12: After Changing Date Placed In Service the System Does Not Calculate Depreciation Correctly (Doc ID 1465979.1)

Last updated on APRIL 19, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Assets - Version 12.0.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

1.  Add new asset through mass additions with date in service 01-May-2001.
2.  Post the mass addition.
3.  After two periods, change the date in service to 01-May-2011 which is period APR-11.  The change takes places in period JUL-11.
4.  Run depreciation.  The system only computes 2 months of depreciation.  It should have 3 months of depreciation.

Since the prorate convention is FOL MONTH, depreciation should be taken for MAY-11, JUN-11 and JUL-1.
