FAQ: Poor Performance for Inventory Transactions : Worker, Interface Transactions, Serial Numbers (Doc ID 146961.1)

Last updated on MAY 01, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Inventory Management - Version 11.5.10.2 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.
EXECUTABLE:INCTCW - Inventory transaction worker

Purpose

Run into performance issues with the Inventory Transaction Worker (INCTCW) Performance issue.
This could relate to loading transaction data into the Inventory Transaction Open Interface from an external system. It could also relate to running the transaction manager for any large volumes of data, for example, sales order issue transactions.

Steps
1. Load data into the transaction interface (and possibly serial interface) table:

MTL_TRANSACTIONS_INTERFACE (1 record).
MTL_SERIAL_NUMBERS_INTERFACE (154,000 records)

2. Navigate to Inventory > Setup > Transactions > Interface Managers

3. Put the cursor on the Inventory Transaction Manager

4. Choose Tools > Launch

5. The system takes over an hour (or many hours) to process the records

Diagnosing Performance

Powerpoint : link / Recording: Link. (Powerpoint used in April 16, 2014 Webcast. See <Note 1290983.1> for details.)
