Goal

An employee received gross pay that was considerably less than the additional Federal Income Tax (FIT) or State Income Tax (SIT) designated on their tax records.  This resulted in a net pay of zero.

Employee is set up to have additional FIT and/or SIT amount taken out of all checks. However, earnings are not sufficient to cover the additional tax, causing the uncollected tax to go into arrears.   The costing program is picking up what the taxes would have been plus the additional tax amount instead of just the additional amount deducted.
