Symptoms

After integrating an E-Business suite instance with Oracle Access Manager (OAM), it is not possible to change a user password from the E-Business suite preferences screen. When trying to save the password change, it fails with the following error:

Failed to update password. Oracle error 2001: java.sq Exception: ORA-20001: Unabled to call fnd_ldap_wrapper.update_user due to the following reason: ORA-20001: Unabled to call fnd_ldap_wrapper.update_user due to the following reason: An unexpected error occured. Please contact your System Administrator. (USER_NAME=<USERNAME>)(USER_NAME=<USERNAME>).
