Sourcing Notification Email Link Points To Internal Server For External Users (Doc ID 1509298.1)

Last updated on OCTOBER 10, 2022

Applies to:

Oracle Sourcing - Version 12.1.1 to 12.2.4 [Release 12.1 to 12.2]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Links in the workflow email for Sourcing Notifications point to the incorrect server for external users when configured for 2 different URLs (e.g.:  one internal for employees (buyers) and one external for Suppliers).

Notifications are delivered correctly in both cases; however the links inside the notification are the same for all users regardless of internal or external user and it redirects to the internal host name url.

As a result, employees can click on the link which appears on their email and access the application, but external Suppliers cannot because they click on the internal link and they are out of internal network, which results in  error.

Due to this issue, Suppliers experience a "Page not found" at every notification e-mail they receive. This causes confusion, since external users may believe that the site is down.

Error

"Page Not Found"

Steps To Reproduce

1. As external supplier user, receive Sourcing notification.
2. Click the link "Please click here to respond" inside notification.
3. Encounter reported error.
