AME: Performance Issue When Opening Purchase Requisition Notifications

Symptoms
When a user opens notifications with many lines (more than 100) the performance is very slow (make take 2-3 minutes) and sometimes the page times out.
Occasionally the performance is also poor when opening requisitions with less lines.
NOTE: AME (Approvals Management Engine) is used for requisition approval.
STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. User logs into Oracle Ebusiness
2. User opens notification worklist
3. Clicks on Subject link to open notification details and it takes a long time to open the notification
