Symptoms

On OTM version 6.2.5

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
When moving Shipments between Dock Doors, Dock 1 needs to take 2 slots to service a Shipment, Dock 2 needs 3 slots if it were to service the same shipment. When moving the Shipment from one Dock Door to another the number of time slots is not recalcualted.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Expect the number of slots consumed to be recalculated when the shipment is moved from one Dock Door to another.

STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1 - Set up Location LJS_ORACLE_READING with two DOCK DOORS.

Shipment Management > Location Manager > Searched for and edited Location LJS_ORACLE_READING.
Resources tabis st to Resopurce Type of SLOT.
There are two Location Resource Names:
A_SLOT using Calendar with 'Activity Time Factor' blank.
B_SLOT using Calendar with 'Activity Time Factor' of 2.

2 - Created Order Release.

3 - Planned the Order onto Shipment: 02635

4 - Secured Resporces on the Shipment.

TESTED EACH SLOT BUY SCHEDULING FROM THE SHIPMENT:

5 - From the Shipment:
Clicked on Actions > Operational Planning > Dock Scheduling > Schedule Appointment > Stop 1 > Show OPtions > Find.

6 - Select the following and click Save.
LEE.403 A_SLOT 2013-03-26 12:00:00 2013-03-26 13:00:00

7 - Click on 'Go to Schedule Board'.

8 - The Shipment has the 12:00 - 13:00 slot.
A_SLOT needs only 1 hour.

9 - Return to the Shipment.

10 - Clicked on Actions > Operational Planning > Dock Scheduling > Schedule Appointment > Stop 1 > Show OPtions > Find.

11 - Select the following and click Save.
LEE.7841 B_SLOT 2013-03-26 12:00:00 2013-03-26 14:00:00

12 - Click on 'Go to Schedule Board'.

13 - In B_SLOT the Shipment takes up the 12:00 - 14:00 slots, 2 slots are used due to the calendar for this Dock Door having an activity factor of 2.
B_SLOT needs two hours.

CLICK AND DRAG TESTS:

14 - Click and drag the Shipment from B_SLOT to A_SLOT and click Save.

15 - In A_SLOT the Shipment is taking up two time periods from 12:00 to 14:00 when we know when in A_SLOT (Dock Door) it only needs 12:00-13:00.

16 - From the Shipment carry out steps 5,6 and 7 above so the Shipment is using A_SLOT and is taking up only one hour.

17 - Click and drag the Shipment to B_SLOT dock door and click save.

18 - In B_SLOT the shipment is taking up only one hour, 12:00 - 13:00 which is incorrect, it should be taking up two hours.

An alternate way to get to this quickly is:
Navigated to: Operational Planning > Appointment Management > Dock and Yard Manager > Searched for Location LJS_ORACLE_READING > Selected the Location and clicked on Actions > Manage Appointments > Select 28th March.

CONCLUSION:

When drag an drop is used OTM is not recalcualting how much time is needed. After the drag and drop either too much time is booked or not enough, in reality this cannot be used becase of the mess it will cause at the Dock Doors.
