Customer Merges Ending In Error, Merge-From customer Site Did not have Usage (Doc ID 1573454.1)

When attempting to merge two customers into a single customer account using the Merge Customers program,
the following error occurs.

STEPS

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Run the Merge Customers program to merge the accounts of two different customers.
2. Merge program ends in error
3. Review the log file, see the above error

BUSINESS IMPACT

The issue has the following business impact:
Due to this issue, users cannot merge these two customer accounts.
