Can Credit Limit Set At Parent Party Level Cascade Down To Child Without Oracle Credit Management? (Doc ID 1581598.1)

Last updated on JULY 13, 2016

Applies to:

Oracle Order Management - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

You have tested the credit check feature as mentioned below on a customer where there is no parent & child relationship established i.e. order would be booked for the customer on whom the credit limit is set.
1. Credit Limit @ Site level – Booked an order and credit hold applied with the message “Credit check hold applied. Order limit exceeded. Using site credit profile”
2. Credit Limit @ Account Level but not at site level - Booked an order and credit hold applied with the message “Credit check hold applied. Order limit exceeded. Using customer credit profile”
3. No credit limit @ Site & Account level – As expected, credit hold is not applied on the Sales Order.
4. Credit limit @ Party level only - We set the credit limit @ party level through ‘TCA API’ and then booked an order however the SO was not applied with credit check hold, where as the expectation is to apply the credit hold on the order based on the credit limit set @ party level.

Goal

If Oracle Credit Management (OCM) is not used, credit checking would use the limit on the Bill To Sites - either order or line level depending on the level of credit checking selected.
There is no cascading of credit limit to the child sales order.

Testing: Credit limit @ Party level only - Set the credit limit @ party level through ‘TCA API’ and then booked an order however the SO was not applied with credit check hold, where as the expectation is to apply the credit hold on the order based on the credit limit set @ party level.

Need answers to 2 main questions:

Q1 – Is it possible to set the credit limit at the parent customer party level and have it cascade to the child customer sales order, without implementing Oracle Credit Management?
Q2 – Why the credit hold was not applied on the sales order when the credit limit is set at party level?
