Applies to:
Oracle Receivables - Version 11.5.10.0 and laterInformation in this document applies to any platform.
Purpose
Use this document to identify the latest version available for Oracle Receivables (AR) files.
When to use the Search Tool in this Note?
- When you are installing a feature
- Applying a patch to fix an issue
In any situation where you are applying files to your system, it is always a good idea to check whether the patch you want to apply already contains the LATEST version of that file.
Within My Oracle Support, there is no straightforward way for you to run a search on a file name, but now you can with the Search link below!
Why check for the latest file version?
File versions are cumulative, and the latest version will contain all the fixes for known issues that have already been addressed.
If you apply a lower file version than the latest, then you are open to the risk of encountering issues that have already been fixed in the higher version.
Whenever possible, it is a proactive best practice to take the latest version of a file.
How to use Search?
When there is a patch you want to apply, you download the .zip file. You can view the .drv file to see what files will be copied over to your instance when you apply the patch.
For example, a .drv file will have a section such as the following, which lists the files and versions that the patch will apply to your instance:
#=================================#
# Actions for Copying Patch Files #
#=================================#
copy ar forms/US ARXRWBOE.fmb 120.16.12010000.8
copy ar patch/115/import/US ar12amg.ldt 120.64.12010000.20
copy ar patch/115/odf arcceh.odf 120.1.12010000.4
copy ar patch/115/sql ARCEAPPB.pls 120.86.12010000.12
Using the filenames listed, you can click the Search link below, search for that file name and review other patches which may contain higher versions of the file.
