Symptoms

Unable to discover E-Business Suite on a database using the apps schema.

Below are Error logs:

oracle.apps.fnd.oam.em.sdk.targetData.discovery.AppsDiscoveryException:
Caused By: oracle.apps.fnd.oam.em.sdk.targetData.discovery.FailedRepositoryUploadException: Waited for five minutes, but unable to find <Target_Name> in Repository Possible reason - agent: host.domain has not uploaded this target in repository
oracle.apps.fnd.oam.em.util.job.CommandException
Caused By: oracle.apps.fnd.oam.em.sdk.targetData.discovery.AppsDiscoveryException: Error while attempting to discover EBS on :  <oracle_database> using schema: <apps>

Below are the steps to reproduce the issue:

1. E-Business Suite Discovery is working fine on a Development and Test instance.  Development and Test instances are cloned from Prod where a patch mismatch should not be the case.

2. The production target was using APPS as monitoring user.

3. What led to current issue:

On the production target, the APPS password was changed in E-Business Suite (EBS) and didn't updated the password in Grid Control. Because of this APPS user account in EBS got locked and hence, the PRODUCTION system went down. After that one updated the APPS user password in Grid Control, but still it was locking the APPS user account in EBS which created havoc as it was bringing down PRODUCTION EBS environment frequently. Hence immediately deleted the Grid Control Agent of oprddb1 (DB NODE) . This resolved APPS user account locking issue.

After that again installed Grid Control agent with AMP on DB node, and tried to discover EBS. Since then, getting an error: 

oracle.apps.fnd.oam.em.sdk.targetData.discovery.FailedRepositoryUploadException

Waited for five minutes, but unable to find the <Target_Name> in Reposiotry.

Possible reason

- agent: host.domain has not uploaded"

whenever trying to discover EBS for production.

The following symptoms are realized after changing the Applications Password on the target E-Businsees Suite:

 1. The Workflow Target Is Not Discovered:

 2. Discovery Fails Due To The Following:

 Discovery Exception:
 Caused by:
oracle.apps.fnd.oam.em.sdk.targetData.discovery.AppsDiscoveryException:
 ORA-20600: The specified target is in the process of being deleted. Either
 the target is not cleaned completely or the deletion is still in progress.
 (target name = <target name>)(target type =<target type>
)(target guid = gu_id)
