MASS UPDATE Fails The Object Version Number Passed Does Not Match (Doc ID 1916974.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to use mass edit to transfer owner of instances
the following error occurs.

ERROR
-----------------------
The Object Version Number passed does not match with the one existing in Installed Base tables


STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1 Select Mass Update
2 Create new batch, use Type as Transfer owner
3 Select Add to add instances
4 Select advanced search
5 Enter party number at the Currently at Party Site Number field
6 Press GO
7 Click Select All to select all on each page and repeat until all instances have been selected
10 Click apply and proceed to submit screen
11 Run concurrent program Initiate mass edit
12 Error is seen the output file; Instance/s in this batch completed with the following error.
Error message: The Object Version Number passed does not match with the one existing in Installed Base tables
