Under Lightweight MLS, What Seed Data Can Be Expected to be Translated By Oracle Versus What Does The Customer Need To Translate? (Doc ID 1930438.1)

Last updated on NOVEMBER 29, 2023

Oracle EBS Applications Translation - Version 12.1.3 to 12.1.3 [Release 12.1]
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

When implementing Lightweight MLS in <Note 1077709.1>, what can one expect of Oracle seed data being translated?

- Does Oracle take care of translating seeded responsibility names, menu names, profile option names?  [All _TL tables seem to have been populated only with the base US language with no translations]
or
- Is it the customer's responsibility to translate the column values (data) for rows that need to be displayed to end users in the translated language?

Some more considerations:

Question 1:  Can a customer install base language FRC and have US as another "Installed" language,  then enable Lightweight MLS for US?

Question 2:  Can a customer only install FRC as base language, with no other installed languages, and enable Lightweight MLS for customizations?
