"CREATE LOCATION" Seeded Agent Action for Tracking Event Errors with "Cannot Assign Null Value to variable $LOCATION_GID" (Doc ID 1990440.1)

Last updated on JULY 20, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Transportation Management - Version 6.2.0 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Using an Automatic Agent "Assign Variable" action of LOCATION_GID errors with "Cannot assign null value to variable $LOCATION_GID"

(With the same / similar XML, for example, using the "Create Equipment" seeded action, it is possible to create a different business object like Equipment )

The expectation here is "Create Location" seeded action will create a Location in the same manner as the "Create Equipment" seeded action creates Equipment.

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1. Create an automatic agent with seeded action of CREATE LOCATION and CREATE EQUIPMENT.
2. Then import the XML file with a Location and Equipment as part of a tracking event.
3. It can be seen that a new equipment is created with the Agent Action but not the Location.
