Goal

Customer encountered an issue where Format Payment Instructions and Format Payment Instructions with Text concurrent programs completed without generating an output file.
The error was related to a java heap space error that was resolved by adding 2GB of memory to the program definitions per the below document:

R12: Format Payment Instructions: Error "Java Exception in Thread 'Main' java.lang.OutOfMemoryError: Java Heap Space" (Doc ID 747750.1)

In the 'Executable' group, there is a field named 'Options'.
Enter the value '-ms2048m -mx2048m' as the value for this field.

While this solution above did resolve the problem, the business users are asking  these three questions:

1. What was the memory setting for these two programs set to originally? The concern is that the memory was not increased enough to prevent future occurrences of this error.

2. Is this 2048m setting above the Oracle recommended setting to prevent this issue from occurring again?

3.Please advise what is the maximum memory setting that can be used?
