'Error Found Handling The Request' Received When Using Action - 'Split By Orders' On The Shipment

Symptoms
Having added action "Split by Orders" to the "SHIPMENT" screen set, when trying to split the orders by selecting "Leave Unplanned" the following error is displayed:
"Error found handling the request java.lang.NullPointerException"
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Access screen set modified in order to contain the action Split by Orders
2. Search for any shipment which contains more than one order release
3. Check the shipment and go to Actions -> Split by Orders
4. Check "Leave Unplanned" and select any order, then click on OK
5. Notice the error message
