Depot Repair: Generic Datafix for Synchronizing Logistics Line Status with Order Line Status (Doc ID 2015555.1)

Last updated on JUNE 21, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Depot Repair - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Each Depot Repair Logistics line includes a 'status' [1].   Under normal circumstances it would be expected that that the Repair Order (RO) Logistics line status will be 'in synch' with the associated Sales Order (SO) Line, but occasionally the two statuses do not match, and it is necessary to use either the Refresh Logistics button [2] on the Repair Workbench, or to run the ‘Depot Repair Receipt Update’ / ‘Depot Repair Shipment Update’ concurrent programs.

This refresh process does not always update the logistics line status as expected. For example, the RO Logistics line stays in 'Entered' status while the SO line is already 'Booked'; or a RO Shipment line stays in 'Booked' status while the SO line is already 'Closed'.

When that is the case, a datafix is required to bring the logistics line in synch with the SO line.

Note that the statuses in Depot Repair are not intended to exactly match the statuses in Order Management; the sales order line statuses can have many different values.  For example: when a Sales Order line is 'Awaiting Shipping', the RO Logistics line should show status 'Booked'; when an SO line is ‘Closed’, the RO Logistics line should show 'Shipped' or 'Received' (which are the final statuses for the RO Logistics lines).

This Note provides a script which can fix certain status mis-matches.
