Entry Of DFF In Web ADI for GL Journal Ends With Error ED01 During Journal Import (Doc ID 2021085.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 23, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 12.2.4 and later
Oracle Applications Desktop Integrator - Version 12.2.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

In Web ADI , define a descriptive flexfield (DFF), associated with value set that has an ID and a description.

For example:
Employee id, Employee name
<NUMBER 1> < NAME 1>
<NUMBER 2> <NAME 2>

When entering data in Web ADI, if the user enters <NUMBER 1>, the user is able to import this data with no issues.
If instead, the user invokes the LOV selecting the value "< NAME 1>" then the field is populated with the name "< NAME 1>" not the expected ID <NUMBER 1>.
When this data is imported into GL, the journal import fails with error: ED01 The context and attribute values do not form a valid descriptive flexfield for Journals - Journal Entry Lines.

Changes

Upgrade to release 12. This worked fine in Rel 11i.
