The Location Capacity Consumption Computation for Ground Schedule Based Shipment Is Double Counting the Volume Or Weight
(Doc ID 2030928.1)
Last updated on JULY 20, 2024
Applies to:
Oracle Transportation Management - Version 6.3.6 to 6.4.1 [Release 6.3 to 6.4]Information in this document applies to any platform.
Symptoms
The capacity consumption computation works fine for a non-schedule based shipment but for a schedule shipment, it is double counting the volume or weight.
Location capacity is setup with a max volume, three orders fitting inside this capacity limit can be bulk plan together onto a static schedule shipment, but if each order is bulk plan individually, only two orders can be planned. The third order fails location capacity even though there is capacity.
EXAMPLE
-------------
Location capacity setup:
- capacity type: volume
- activity: receive
- time bucket: 1 D
- max volume: 400 CUFT
Orders:
ORDER_01, ORDER_02, ORDER_03, ORDER_04
Source/destination: plant -> customer
100 cuft per order
If you select the first three orders and bulk plan them – orders are planned onto a shipment for example 09300 (using the ground schedule)
If you unassign the orders and bulk plan each one individually, the first two orders will planned onto 09300.
The third order will fail to bulk plan - it plans onto 09300 but fails location capacity even though there is capacity.
