WebADI Upload Gives 'Enter a valid Task Number' When Trying to Upload Expenditure Batches for Projects using Cost Base Structures (CBS). (Doc ID 2089606.1)

Last updated on FEBRUARY 01, 2024

Applies to:

Oracle Project Planning and Control - Version 12.2.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

When uploading WebADI expenditure data to Projects, tasks that are less than or equal to 25 characters error with 'Enter a valid Task Number' when using a Cost Base Structure (CBS).  When you move your cursor back to the task field, there is a red triangle in the cell and when you hover over the field is says 'The value in Task Number is greater than the allowed column width size of 25'.  It appears the cost code of the CBS structure assigned to the task is
concatenated to the task number on entry, resulting in greater than 25 characters.  When the exact same item is entered in through the Pre-Approved batch form, the item does not error.

Additionally, even when the same task number is used on multiple rows in the spreadsheet, not all rows give the error, i.e., 5 rows entered with the exact same information with the exception of the expenditure item date, the first row gives 'Enter a valid Task Number' and the last row gives 'Cannot execute SQL Statement'.  The 3 rows in between appear to have no errors.

The upload indicates only 2 rows have an issue but nothing is uploaded to the interface table.
