Payroll Fails with "The value returned from formula <FORMULA_NAME> for DUMMY is NULL." (Doc ID 2107744.1)

Symptoms

Problem Statement:

Payroll fails with the following HR_51118_HRPROC_ERR_OCC_ON_ASG, HR_51121_HRPROC_ERR_OCC_ON_SFM error.

Error was encountered when processing assignment <ASSIGNMENT_NUMBER>
Error was encountered when processing Skip formula <FORMULA_NAME>
An error occurred during formula execution:

The value returned from formula <FORMULA_NAME> for DUMMY is NULL.

Cause: The value was set from a function call that returns NULL.

Another possible cause is that DUMMY is passed to a func
The value returned from formula <FORMULA_NAME> for DUMMY is NULL.

Cause: The value was set from a function call that returns NULL.

Another possible cause is that DUMMY is passed to a function  in PL/SQL OUT mode. An unset PL/SQL OUT

 

 

Steps to Reproduce:

The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1.  Run Payroll Process.
  2.  Payroll completes with the error.
