Journals Are Not Getting Posted To GL From OPM Financials - Error "EP01 This date is not in any open or future enterable period."

Symptoms
Journals are not getting posted to GL from OPM Financials.
The log file of 'Transfer Journal Entries to GL' shows that a temporary table is created with name XLA_GLT_3221096.
This table has 151833 rows. All the rows have a group id, JE Header id, batch id etc. But when we check with these ids in the GL base tables, they are not present. It seems like they are not getting transferred to GL for some reason.
The output of Journal Import Execution Report shows an error code EP01(This date is not in any open or future enterable period) and points to a period of march-16. We are not sure where Mar-16 is getting picked up from. In the temp table, it shows a period of Jul-16.
