Symptoms
ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
After upgrading from 12.1.3 to 12.2.5, the Depreciation Method is not defaulting as it did in 12.1.3. The expected default values are not being set and users are booking contracts with the incorrect Depreciation.
EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Expect the defaulting to work as it did in 12.1.3.
STEPS
-----------------------
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Set the Asset Category in Inventory in the Purchasing tab of the Asset Item.
Application - Inventory
Items > Master Items
2. Set the Default Depreciation Method in Assets for the Category set in step 1.
Application - Assets
Setup > Asset System > Asset Categories
3. Make sure there is a Method defined with Life Years / Months to match your contract Term
Application - Assets
Setup > Depreciation > Methods
4. Create a Lease Contract with a Term that matches the confirmed value in step 3.
For example, if you confirmed that Method STL with Life Months 6, then use Term 6.
5. Add an Asset using the Item in step 1. Upon saving the Depreciation and Life should
default to match the contract term.
