How to Prevent Coverage/Rate Update for Plans Based on Age/Compensation When Processing a Life Event (Doc ID 2215713.1)

Last updated on JULY 08, 2024

Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

Customer has plans within the same program - medical, dental, vision, FSA, long term disability, and optional life plans for employee, spouse, and child, etc.

The Optional Life plans are based on derived factors for compensation and age.

How do we prevent updates to optional life coverage and rates based on life events processed that are intended to impact only other plans within the program?

For example - processing a coverage change to the spouse optional life plan causes the employee optional life plan coverage and rates to update if there's been a change to the employee's age or salary.
Is there a way to prevent this?

So the employee life rates only recalculate if you process a specific life event intended to update the optional life plan?
