ADOP Command (Adop Phase=fs_clone or Phase=prepare) Hangs During Validation At txkADOPValidations.pl Or txkValidateSetup.pl And Does Not Progress, No Error Messages Received (Doc ID 2230679.1)

Symptoms

E-Business Suite 12.2 Applications DBA, Online Patching ADOP Utilities issues

When running an Online Patching ADOP command (for example adop phase=prepare or adop phase=fs_clone) after installing 12.2.6, the process hangs and does not progress past the validation phase.

No errors are reported on the screen or in the logs.

Checking the status of the process at the OS level the following will be displayed where the process is hung:

In this case killing the process id running command "oracle.apps.ad.util.ADOPValidations validateETCHosts" may allow adop to continue.
