Integrated SOA Gateway Installation on EBS Release 12.2 Generates an Error 401 After ASADMIN Username / Password is Entered

Symptoms

Installing Integrated SOA Gateway on E-Business Suite release 12.2. Following note Installing Oracle E-Business Suite Integrated SOA Gateway, Release 12.2 (Doc ID 1311068.1), 'Section 1.1: Setup Tasks on Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12.2.3 or Higher', Step 5:

Verify that the current setup on Oracle E-Business Suite is correct by generating XSD’s for a BSO service using the URL given below. The URL would prompt for username and password. Provide ASADMIN user name and password configured in step 1 and verify that a zipped file containing the XSD’s is downloaded. This confirms a successful setup.

(http://<EBS Apps login host:port>/webservices/isgagent/?generatexsd=<BSO class id>) or (https://<EBS Apps login host:port>/webservices/isgagent/?generatexsd=<BSO class id>) for TLS enabled environment.

This step should confirm a successful setup by entering the above URL and supplying the ASADMIN Username and Password.

The expected behavior at this point is a successful login. Instead, the same login pop-up appears again for three times even though the correct login credentials were entered. After the third attempt, the following error is displayed:
