"cause.Unknown Error" Exception Adding an Event to an Order Release with no Order Release Line ID

Symptoms
Event Added for Order Release without Order Release Line ID generates a transmission with incorrect .XML.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Select an Order Release;
2. Go to Actions -> Order Management -> Events -> Add Order Release Events
3. Select a Party, Status, Reason and Event Date/Time. On Order Release Line ID Leave the selection blank (just don't touch it).
4. An Error is received: cause.Unknown Error
5. Navigate to Business Process Automation -> Integration -> Transmission Manager -> Filter by Status “FRESH”, click Search;
6. You will see the transmission triggered, in spite of the error that had been thrown.
7. Click on Raw XML for the transmission
