E-Business Suite R12 Applications Manager, Rapidclone related issues

When cloning an environment the administrator reports an error when running perl adcfgclone.pl appsTier:

'AutoConfig is exiting with status 31
RC-50014: Fatal: Execution of AutoConfig was failed
Raised by oracle.apps.ad.clone.ApplyApplTop
ERROR: AutoConfig completed with errors.'

Checking the log file the first error occurs while relinking of the oracle homes:

'Error while running adlnkweboh.sh.
  return code = .9
Error while running adlnktools.sh.
  return code = .10.11.13.14.15.16.17.18.21.22.23.24.25.32.33.34.36.37.38.39.43.44.45.46.46.47.48.49'

adlnktools.sh fails to link libraries causing issues with many executables (e.g. sqlplus).

The ApplyAppsTier-log-file reports the following error multiple times:
sqlplus: error while loading shared libraries: libclntsh.so.10.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
