Symptoms
The existence of Orphan records if often noticed until certain functionality is called by an end user, in which typically one of many different error messages result. Sometimes the error message will specify that the processing problem stems from orphan records; however, in other cases, this is only discerned through diagnostics, data collection, research and analysis.
