Symptoms

Problem Statement:

When attempting to use Talent Profile with Absence Mangement after applying RUP10 on R12.1, the following error occurs.

You have encountered an unexpected error. Please contact your System Administrator for assistance.

oracle.apps.fnd.framework.OAException: java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException: String index out of range: -2

 

 

Steps to Reproduce:
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

  1.  Login as a user who is linked to the employee with a long name length( which is over 50 byte for full name)

  2.  Open Talent Profile wit Employee Self Service or Manager Self Service responsibility
     
  3.  Above error can be seen
