In Release 12.2 Item Simple Search With Wild Card Is Not Working Correctly (Doc ID 2453719.1)

Symptoms

On : 12.2.6 version, Catalog items

Actual Behavior

Post Upgrade from 11.5.10.2 to 12.2.6 , In Product workbench and Item Simple Search screens - Wild card Item Search is not working as in 11i.

For Example in 11i User did a wild card search with RT200%PROD% and it shows all Items containing RT200%PROD%. They have a Item RT200-1-PROD and it got resulted.
But in R12 querying for RT200%PROD%, then the search is not returning any record.


Expected Behavior
Expect that in R12 querying for RT200%PROD%, should result in RT200-1-PROD

Steps
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:

1) Navigate to Development Manager Responsibility -> Item Catalog -> Item Simple Search
2) Search the problematic item using RT200%PROD%
There are no search results.
