Unable to De-activate Asset Due to Error 'Asset Hierarchy exists for the Asset' (Doc ID 2495786.1)

Symptoms

When attempting to de-activate some assets, the following error occurs.


ERROR
Asset Hierarchy exists for the Asset


STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Enterprise Asset Management >> Assets >> Asset Numbers
2. Go to Tools -> De-activate Asset Number.
3. Receive the above error message.
