Invalid Error Message while updating Item description through API

While updating the item description in Master ORG, they failed with he below error message, saying child item import failed for organization. But most of the items that failed with below error message do not even exist in this organization.

Child Item import failed.Changing Master Controlled attributes of this Master Item has caused validation errors in the Child Item. Child Item import failed. Organization XYZ: The Item Import failed due to any of the following reasons:
The BUYER_ID specified is not a valid Employee in HR_EMPLOYEES.
(or)
The BUYER_ID specified is not a valid Buyer in PO_AGENTS.
(or)
The BUYER_ID specified is disabled (END_DATE_ACTIVE in PO_AGENTS is earlier than the SYSDATE).
