Numeric Fields are not Converted Properly in BI Report Formatting

Symptoms
You have a report which was converted from the old report version to the new BI report after upgrading to 6.4.3 recently.
In the old report the numeric fields were not showing any error.
In the new Report, it is giving error symbol besides the numeric fields.
In the old version, it used to automatically consider numeric fields as numbers. In the new version, it is asking to convert it to Number.
This field is set as ‘Regular text’ in the Format template of both the versions.
You cannot make it as Number since you have alphanumeric values as well.
Your end users have some formulas set on certain fields, and because of this issue those formulas are not working.
You have to manually convert those fields into number in order for those formulas to work.
