Unable To Reinstate Asset or Cancel Retirement: Error APP-47333 (Doc ID 259600.1)

Symptoms

Need to reinstate an asset or cancel a retirement transaction.
The period is not closed, but CALCULATE GAINS/LOSSES was run.

In Retirements form, REINSTATE button is not active (greyed out)
and the following errors are encountered:

Get the error:APP-47333 You cannot perform this transaction because the asset is fully retired.
Choose a book in which you have not yet retired the asset or reinstate
the asset, and then perform the transaction.
If you wish to cancel or undo the retirement ,please query it first .
