Symptoms

Attempting to upload journals using Web Applications Desktop Integrator results in the following error displayed on the page.

ERROR
Validation failed.. Database Character Set does not have a matching Java Character Set. Ask the System Administrator to review this error


STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. (N) GL Responsibility > Journals > Launch Journal Wizard
2. Select General Ledger integrator and the desired layout. Click (B) Create.
3. Enter desired data. Click Upload from menu option.
4. Error occurs when attempting to upload.

Note: Any integrator may be affected, however General Ledger (GL) and Advanced Global Intercompany System (AGIS) are more likely to reproduce this error.

Changes

 The issue is more likely to occur after applying Patch 29389395:R12.FND.C or CPU Critical Patches (July 2023 or later).
