R12:AP: 1099 Electronic Media Is Rejected By IRS Because Records Are Not 750 Bytes In Length (Doc ID 2736324.1)

Symptoms

After applying 1099 patch for 2020, the 1099 Electronic Media file is rejected by the IRS with the following FIRE letter:

Your records are not a fixed length of 750 bytes per record or your record lengths vary within the file. If you use carriage return/line feeds, they must be in positions 749-750.

Refer to Publication 1220 or contact your software company or service provider for further information.
