Information in this document applies to any platform.

Goal

The planning export/import tool is available in 6.4.3 and 6.5.x as an added enhancement. The planning export/import tool has been back ported to OTM version 6.4.3 and 6.5.x for on-premise customers to export data from their 6.4.3 or 6.5.x environment and import into other 6.4.3 and 6.5.x instances.  This tool exports planning data related to the orders defined in the order saved query and data related to the planning parameter set. It also retrieves all related itineraries and rates for the orders and exports them. The exported data is in CSV file format and is grouped/compressed into a zip file.

With importing, the tool imports all the data in csv files into the domain provided by the user based on a generated exported zip file. It also validates the data for integrity (i.e. checks for any missing primary keys, missing values for non-nullable columns, etc.). How to use this feature differs in 6.x than in OTM cloud. The export and import topics are exposed to the users with this feature. These topics need to be published with the correct input to invoke the export/import functionality. To publish either import/export topics, a user has to insert an entry in the process_control_request table. Automation agent with direct SQL update action can be used to insert these records or the user can manually run the insert SQL using SQLPlus, SQL Developer, or any other program that can insert records into the database.
