WEBADI: Blank Recruitment Mail Merge Offer Letter is Generated When Using Word DOCX Templates (Doc ID 2739894.1)

On R12.1.3 R12.HR_PF.B.Delta.11, Offer Letter

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
When trying to open a mail merge letter related to recruitment using a Word 2016 DOCX template,
the WEBADI process is showing a blank screen when trying to generate the Word document (Excel data source file is created)

NOTE:The same process works fine if using the old Word ".DOC" format as template

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
Expected to be able to generate Recruitment Letters using the Word DOCX format for templates.

STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Create a Letter Integrator following the steps indicated in Note 360105.1, Chapter 10. Letters
2. Using Desktop Integrator->Document Management, upload a 'DOCX' document
template to be used with Mail Merge and Link it with existing integrator
(Desktop Integrator->Manage Document links)
3. Go to XX HRMS Manager->Recruitment -> Request Recruitment Letter->query
existing offer letter in status Processed and click on Export Data icon
4. It will automatically create the Excel data source then will create a blank
Word document instead of opening the template letter document in Word, and mail
merge in the data source.



Changes

 Upgraded from old version of MS Word to Word 2016 or higher and switch to "DOCX" file format
