WIP Completion Return Transactions are Removing Reserved Inventory from Onhand (Doc ID 2781258.1)

Last updated on JUNE 01, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle Process Manufacturing Process Execution - Version 12.2.4 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

On : 12.2.4 version, Batches

ACTUAL BEHAVIOR
---------------
Organization that does not allow negative inventory, WMS enabled
From a batch, yield product into an LPN, lot, subinvenv, etc. that already has some onhand (not sure whether it matters that there is additional onhand)
From another batch that uses the same item as an ingredient, create a detailed reservation for the full onhand in that LPN, lot, etc.
From the original batch, enter a WIP Completion Return transaction for the product.
The transaction should fail and give an error, because you are not supposed to be allowed to remove inventory that is reserved.
However, the transaction is successful, and it drives ATR and ATT negative

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
-----------------------
Expect to get an error preventing the WIP Completion Return

STEPS
---------

  1. Yield product (Production Supervisor > Batch Details > Transact Material)
  2. Create detailed reservation in another batch (Production Supervisor > Batch Details > Reservations)
  3. Enter WIP Completion Return transaction in original batch (Production Supervisor > Batch Details > Transact Material)
