When contracting a lease, system deletes the information related to any payment lines not yet started at the new termination date, reversing life to date amortization and interest.
When shortening a lease the expected journal entries would be DR liability and CR asset, for any payment lines extending past the new termination date. Audit trail is lost when the future dated payment term is deleted.
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Property Manager Responsibility
2. Query a lease with future payment start date
PN > Lease and Document > Main Lease > Enter Lease and Document
3. Amend the lease to shorten the termination date
