Goal
In General Ledger (GL), a new Ledger and Accounting Key Flexfield structure have been defined. Also, a new Business Group has been created in Payroll and the existing Cost Allocation Flexfield is attached to it. The new GL flexfield structure has fewer segments than the existing Cost Allocation Flexfield. Can the existing Cost Allocation Flexfield be changed to match the new GL flexfield? If so, how would that be done?
Example: The Cost allocation flexfield stands at 9 segments listed below:
1 Company
2 Region
3 Location
4 NW & Branch
5 Department
6 Account
7 Sub Account
8 Future 1
9 Future 2
The new GL flexfield structure has been reduced to 7 segments listed below;
1 Company
2 Region
3 Location
4 Department
5 Account
6 Future 1
7 Future 2
Segments 4 and 7 of the Cost Allocation Flexfield will no longer be used.
