Error: "NO APPROVER FOUND" When Approving the Journals Using Dynamic Query Defined Using the Attribute Columns of GL_JE_HEADERS Table (Doc ID 2792937.1)

Last updated on JULY 18, 2023

Applies to:

Oracle General Ledger - Version 12.1.3 and later
Information in this document applies to any platform.

Symptoms

Journal approval is integrated with Approval Management Engine (AME). User configured AME rules for GL Journal approval so as to select approver name with dynamic approver group. As per this setup, AME has to derive the approver name using attribute1 column of the Journal tables.

For example, if a journal with header_id:XXXX is sent for approval, then approver name has to be derived dynamically from the attribute1 of the gl_je_headers with je_header_id:XXXX

But, journal approval is not deriving the approver name as per the above setup and giving the below error in the approval notification

Error:

No Approver Found to approve the transaction

Steps to reproduce the issue:

1) Log into Approval Management Engine

2) Configure the AME rule to derive the approver for journals using the below SQL query given in AME approver group

3) Log into General Ledger

4) Navigate to Journal-Enter- Enter New Journal - Select Approve
