When attempting to process inbound acknowledgment messages via XML Gateway for Purchase Orders , this error occurs

ERROR
Processing Status = Error
Processing Message = java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException


STEPS
The issue can be reproduced at will with the following steps:
1. Navigate to XML Gateway responsibility > Define Trading Partners menu option
2. Create trading partner (vendor) for inbound acknowledgement messages
3. Create and approve Purchase Order for this trading partner (supplier and supplier site)
4. Supplier acknowledges the PO via inbound xml message, error occurs while processing the inbound response
